University by the Sea

Both my sister and I ended up at colleges right next to the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The sea air, as I have mentioned before, is really just my favorite air to breathe. It opens me up to see the world better and allows me to enjoy photographing that much more. For this long Valentine's Day weekend I went down to visit my sister at UC San Diego. We walked around her campus, went out to eat with our family, and explored the city. I realized that I never really walked around my campus to take photos. When I was in school I was mostly stressed out and trying to get the heck out of there and into the "real world". Being back on a college campus, I started to miss going to school. I consider going back often. Maybe to study photojournalism. But I can't decide if that's just a way to escape the reality of the hard work that comes along with the "real world". There's no right way about going after this career choice of mine. And many successful photographers are self-taught. For now, I will keep on shooting. Keep on following my dream and capturing the world around me. I've got some more stories in the works and a project I will be starting soon. I wish there was a school that taught you how to live in the moment and enjoy the journey. That's a major we could all probably benefit from.
